Ups And Downs Of Life Part 5
After being satisfied touring a Los Angeles city using Judy's car, they finally stopped at a children's playground and played cradles and slide boards there cheerfully and forget for a moment the problems that plague life. Jane and Judy really looked very happy at that time even though it wasn't even one day that Jane met Judy but she felt that the girl was a good girl and Jane was very comfortable with the girl.
" Judy, thank you for taking me around a city, I feel really happy and I've never felt as happy as this before. " Jane thanked Judy.
" You're welcome, thank you for being my friend too. " Judy replied.
" By the way, when was the last time you felt as happy as this? " Judy asked, curious.
" When I was little, but I don't remember... " Jane answered.
" Jane, can you accompany me after this? " Judy asked as she looked at Jane and hoped that Jane would accompany her somewhere.
" Where to? " Jane asked, curious again.
" To my mother's grave. " Judy said, there was a hint of sadness and longing on Judy's face, Jane who saw it felt compassion, she understood the pain of a child losing a mother just like Jane's pain of losing her mother to a divorce that destroyed all her happiness.
" Alright, let's go now while before the sun goes down. " Jane said, they both rushed back to the car and got in the car, Judy hit the gas and immediately went to her mother's grave which was about twenty miles away than that place.
After arriving there, Judy placed a bunch of red roses on the side of her mother's gravestone, witnessed by Jane who stood like a living doll there. There was a tinge of sadness on Judy's face when she saw the gravestone of her long dead mother.
" Mom, I'm coming again but this time I'm not alone, there's my friend here. Mom can you see? This is my friend Jane. " Judy said as she introduced Jane to her 'late mother' .
"Hi Mrs Lewis " Jane said.
" I miss you mom, I miss you so much! " Judy hugged her mother's tombstone, this was all she could do every time she visited her mother's grave. Even though she couldn't hug her mother for real but being able to hug her tombstone was enough for Judy to let go of that very painful longing. Jane who witnessed Judy's heart wrenching behavior reminded her of her mother who disappeared somewhere, Jane wishes her mother always healthy and long life even though she can no longer see her mother's face every day but at least she knows her mother is still alive. Jane's tears fell and she quickly wiped them away so Judy wouldn't notice.
" What disease did she die from? " Jane asked.
" Cerebral cancer, at that time I was 8 years old and still too young to understand what was going on with my mother, who I knew my mother was always unwell and her illness got worse day by day so that in the end my mother really left us all for good. " Judy said, telling Jane about her mother's illness.
" Sorry for your loss, I didn't know you experienced this when you were a child, it must be really painful when you lose your mother, right? " Jane asked.
" Yes, it really hurts, you're lucky even though your mother disappeared but you know she's still alive " Judy said, Jane just nodded her head.
" Even though she left you, don't hate her because as bad as she is she is still your mother. " Judy said to Jane again.
" I know, I never hated her I hope she will come back someday. " Jane answered.
" Jane, let's go home, your grandparents must be worried about you right now. " Judy invites Jane to go home because she feels they have been out for a long time and is afraid that their family will be angry and worried about being out too long.
" Come on! " Jane said.
" Mom, I'm going home first, next time I come again. " Judy said to her mother who was in the grave, then she woke up and they came out of the place.
At night, after having dinner with grandpa and grandma, Jane went into her room because she wanted to finish the homework given by her teacher this afternoon. Right now she was sitting near the writing desk holding a pen, when suddenly she saw her phone screen lit up. It turned out that there was an incoming WhatsApp message, it was from Andrew. Jane immediately read the WhatsApp message.
" Hello Jane, how are you? Next week I go home, I take a semester off for two weeks. Don't forget to tell grandpa and grandma okay? " Jane read the message, then replied.
" Hi Andrew, I'm fine here. I'll tell grandpa and grandma, can't wait for you to come home, do you know where mom is yet? " When she finished typing, Jane sent the message to Andrew. Five minutes later Andrew sent another WhatsApp message.
" Not yet, I've asked my friends who are in Indonesia to look for the whereabouts of mom, but there is still no detailed information about mom. "
" Where do you think mom went? " Jane replied.
"I don't know, just pray that mom will come back soon. What about dad? " Andrew's turn to ask too.
" He had also left a week ago, working in Germany. " Jane replied.
" Hmm..." That was all Andrew replied.
" Andrew, talk to you later, I have homework to do. "
" Alright, study hard, bye. " Andrew replied, this time the message was only read by Jane without intending to reply back. Jane immediately made her homework, while she was doing her homework suddenly a WhatsApp message from Judy Lewis came in, Jane read the message.
" Jane, Cal asked me for your number just now, can I give him your number? " Judy asked.
" It's up to you, but why did he ask for my number? " Jane replied, she was also curious as to why Cal asked for her number all of a sudden.
" I don't know, I'll just ask him first. " Judy replied, 11 minutes later Judy texted again.
" Cal didn't answer my question, he just said thank you. What a weird guy! " Judy said.
" It's okay. " This time Jane replied and sent a WhatsApp message to Judy, Judy was seen reading and then replying to a message from Jane.
" What are you doing now? Have you eaten already? " Judy asked, while Jane read and then replied.
" Yes, I ate earlier, I'm doing my homework now. " Jane sent her WhatsApp message but this time only got a blue tick from Judy, Jane went back to her homework.
